Photography & Writing
Photography and writing are both natural extensions of the teaching, designing and building that I do. For me, both are a way to share what I’ve experienced and a way of communicating what I’ve seen and learned. With my images I try to evoke an emotion, tell a story or sometimes simply and clearly illustrate a point. Most photos from this site and at my photo sharing site are available to purchase. You can look at the photo site here.
My photos are offered as custom prints on fine art paper or canvas prints. For prints on photo paper, while several sizes are available I recommend a 13 x 19 inch print. This size, once matted and frame creates an 18 x 24 inch work of art, which is large enough to admire from across the room yet still retains stunning detail as you’re drawn in closer. I personally print and sign all my photos and work to a high standard. Canvas prints are done by a custom printer.
Each print sale is treated as a custom commission, if you’d like to order a print lets have a conversion about your preferences and print choices. It’s a bit more work then a click to buy option but much more fun for both of us. A typical 13 x 19 inch print unmatted is $85 and a 16 x 24 inch print on canvas is $195. All common prints sizes are available as well as basic matting and framing options.
I also enjoy shooting and working on projects for clients with specific goals. Magazine shoots are a perfect example of how vision, craftsmanship and precise storytelling meld together to create a project whose sum is often greater than it’s parts. That’s part of the power of photography. Please contact me if you have a project in mind.
I probably struggle more with writing than I do any other task I pursue. An aversion to long hours at the desk, coupled with the knowledge that the information I am sharing must be well presented and correct makes for a challenging task. Nonetheless, I feel that given my experiences building, teaching and making photographs I offer a unique skill set for appropriate magazine and media projects. I am proud of the pieces I have had published and the photographs that accompany them.
