Bill Thomas Woodworking:

For almost 30 years, I have been a woodworker
designing and building custom projects for a wide
range of clients. The diversity of work, from cabinetry to furniture, from sail and powerboats to kayaks, remains a constant source of enjoyment to me both personally and professionally.
I derive great pleasure and satisfaction from knowing that the furniture and cabinetwork I have created custom fit my clients’ needs. I feel privileged to have designed functional and attractive pieces that enrich people’s lives.
Sharing the knowledge and experience accrued over these years is also a very rewarding experience. Teaching woodworking and boatbuilding around the country, including at the WoodenBoat School in Maine, enables me to continue to learn and grow as a craftsman and as a man. Through outdoor leadership training, by actively boating and designing, by building and teaching, both in the shop on the water I continue to hone my skills while ensuring that they remain well founded in real life experience.
In addition to teaching classes, I am also able to share my sometimes hard won knowledge through writing and photography. These pieces are published in various magazines.
In the hope that my contributions are positive and my impact on the earth’s resources slight, I continue to refine a thoughtful way of working and living. To me, craftsmanship is a way to honor these goals and it is a life long pursuit.
“What can you do with your days but work and hope?
Let your dreams bind your work to your play?”
